Elze Wit
mood, light & nostalgia
The slow and quiet images in Canterbury-born artist Elze Wit’s work softly suggest multiple possibilities. The abstract nature of light, nostalgia and the emotional are her primary subjects, and her work leaves the viewer with a warmth and comfort that is at the heart of her intention. Although photography remains her main medium of choice, her passion has moved to discovering the three-dimensional, enhancing her motive to imbue a very tangible and tactile expression of womanhood, motherhood, death of self-identity and loss.
